Visit Hampshire!

Information Sessions and Tours for prospective students are temporarily closed.

Following the Board's February decision to admit only a very small freshman class in the fall of 2019, and April vote to remain an independent institution through an ambitious five year fundraising plan, the Admissions Office has paused all campus visits for prospective students as we explore our options for a sustainable and impactful future.

It is likely that regular visits will resume this summer in a limited capacity. All updates to the visit schedule will appear on this page as well as the general campus visit information page,

When tours and interviews are once again available, they will appear in the calendar to the right. At that time, you'll be able to schedule a tour and/or interview by clicking a date on the calendar and selecting "Plan your Campus Visit."

On-Campus Visits

Our campus visit experience is made up of three events:

  • An information session on the academic program (45 minutes)
  • A campus tour led by a current student  (75 minutes)
  • An optional interview* (30 minutes)

Campus visits begin at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. every weekday and 9 a.m. on select Saturdays. Check in at the admissions office, located on the first floor of the R.W. Kern Center.

*What can you expect in a Hampshire interview? You'll sit down with an admissions counselor or Division III student and talk about your school experiences, ideas for college, and interests outside the classroom. This is an optional part of the application process and is meant to be casual and fun!

Can't make it to campus? Schedule an interview off-site!

Hampshire admissions counselors travel extensively throughout the fall. Schedule an off-campus interview in your area. If no one is in coming to a town near you, find your admissions counselor to schedule a phone or Skype interview.

Got a large group?

Hampshire welcomes groups of students from high schools or other programs. Groups of six or more require reservations; we kindly request that group visit requests be made at least two weeks in advance. Call 413.559.5471 to check our availability, or email
